Human Intelligence and Artificial Intelligence was the theme of the Mehr Iranian Cultural Association of Toronto’s monthly gathering at Global Link on Friday, May 9, 2025, from 6 to 8:30 PM.
Human Intelligence Meets Artificial Intelligence
The first part of the evening featured a short talk by Mr. Ahmad Javaherian, a researcher, poet and social analyst. He spoke about intelligence and AI, a subject that touches every part of modern life, from work and education to art.
As AI tools become more powerful, people everywhere are asking what makes our own minds special. Creativity, empathy, humour and moral judgement are qualities we still recognise as deeply human. Read more about artificial intelligence on Wikipedia.
Program
- Mini-talk by Ahmad Javaherian on intelligence and AI
- Tea, coffee and sweets
- Poetry, singing, personal writings and music
- Open mic for community artists
Why Talk About Human Intelligence Now?
A community conversation about technology is different from a lecture. It lets poets, engineers, parents and students share their hopes and worries side by side. This mix of science and culture is exactly what the Mehr gatherings are known for.
The monthly gathering is a space for artists, thinkers and creatives to connect and share, and to keep the cultural spark of Toronto’s Iranian community alive.
