Origin of Art, Truth and Beauty was a monthly evening of the Mehr Iranian Cultural Association of Toronto at Global Link. It was a night full of passion and memories for lovers of Persian culture, literature and art.
The Origin of Art and Its Link to Truth
This month’s talk explored how the ideas of truth and beauty connect with art. These questions are as old as philosophy itself. Why do we create? What makes a poem, a song or a painting feel true? The discussion invited the audience to think about art not only as decoration, but as a way of understanding life.
Talking about the origin of art in a community setting makes these big questions personal. Everyone brings their own memories of a song, a poem or a film that changed how they see the world.
Program
- Talk on the relationship between truth, beauty and art
- Poetry reading
- Personal writings (del-neveshteh)
- Singing and live music
Tickets were available by phone, by e-Transfer, or in cash at the door on the night of the event. Read more about the philosophy of art on Wikipedia.
