Alpha Child Therapy and Shiva Movafaghian invited children and families to a big and different Nowruz celebration at Global Link on Sunday, March 16, from 11 AM to 1 PM. Beautiful Nowruz brings light and joy to children and families, and this event was designed to welcome spring together.
Alpha Child Therapy Nowruz Celebration
The goal was to connect the small hearts of children with the rich culture of Iran. Through dance, games, prizes and exciting activities, kids could greet spring and create a memory to keep.
Activities for Kids and Families
- The Shahnameh story of Zal and Simorgh, performed for kids
- Persian dance and musical instruments
- Pottery and a creative haft-sin table activity
- Refreshments and exciting competitions
- Uncle Nowruz (Amoo Nowruz) and traditional Iranian games

Why Alpha Child Therapy Hosts Cultural Events
For children growing up in Canada, cultural celebrations build identity and belonging. When kids hear old stories, make a haft-sin and dance with friends, they learn that their heritage is something joyful to share. These moments can spark questions at home about grandparents, old traditions and the meaning of each item on the haft-sin table, which keeps the conversation going long after the event.
Hosting these events also gives parents a relaxed space to meet other families and to see their children learn through play.
