Film for Peace, part of the International Peace Festival, was an unforgettable evening at Global Link Trade Hub on November 24, 2024, from 3 to 7 PM. It offered an innovative perspective on peace as promoted through the arts, music and cinema.
Film for Peace: Art as a Bridge
The International Peace Festival brings together international and Canadian cinema, music, painting, sculpture and photography. Its special events feature well-known names from the arts and a cultural exchange program that connects communities. Learn more at internationalpeacefestival.com.
Why film? Cinema lets us step into someone else’s life for a couple of hours. A good story about conflict, loss or reconciliation can build more understanding than many speeches. That is the idea behind this program.
The Evening at Global Link
Guests at Film for Peace watched screenings, met artists and joined conversations about how culture can reduce division. The event brought together people from many backgrounds who share a simple belief: peace starts with understanding.

Why Global Link Supports Film for Peace
Our centre exists to connect people through education, creativity and community. Hosting a festival that uses art to promote peace fits that mission. It also gives local audiences a chance to see work by filmmakers they might never meet otherwise.
Art does not solve every problem, but it opens doors. When families, students and artists sit in the same room and watch the same story, they leave with something to talk about together. Those conversations continue at dinner tables, in classrooms and online, and that is how small cultural events slowly change the way a community thinks about conflict and about each other.
