Professional Acting Workshop with Jaleh Sameti took place at Global Link on April 26, from 4 to 8 PM. We were proud to host one of the most prominent figures in Iranian theatre and cinema: an accomplished actress, instructor and director with a distinguished career in the performing arts.
Inside the Professional Acting Workshop
In this exclusive session, Jaleh Sameti shared the core principles and practical techniques of acting with participants. The workshop was a unique opportunity for aspiring actors, students and professionals to work with experiential methods, sensory exercises and hands-on training.
Workshop Topics
- The path of an actor
- Type and character
- Improvisation
- Rhythm and tempo
Acting is a craft that is learned by doing. Exercises in improvisation and rhythm help actors listen, react and stay present on stage. Learn more about the art of acting.
Why This Professional Acting Workshop Mattered
With more than two decades on Iranian stage, film and television, and years of professional teaching, Jaleh Sameti is known as one of the most influential and respected figures in her field. Learning from a real master, in person, is rare outside Iran. Capacity was limited and pre-registration was required.
For Toronto’s Persian-speaking artists, sessions like this build skills and confidence, and they also create a network of people who want to make theatre together.
