The Ritual of Light Never Dies was a memorial evening for Hamid Samandarian and Homa Rousta, two names deeply tied to Iranian theatre. Global Link hosted the program on Sunday, October 19, from 4 to 7 PM.
The Ritual of Light: Remembering Two Artists
Hamid Samandarian was a respected theatre director and teacher who trained many generations of actors. Homa Rousta was a well-known actress of stage and screen. Their work shaped modern Persian theatre, and their students still carry their lessons today. You can read more about Hamid Samandarian on Wikipedia.
The title of the evening, The Ritual of Light Never Dies, carries a simple message: the light that great artists leave behind keeps guiding the people who come after them. Remembering them is also a way of passing that light forward.
Program
